If you are interested in mathematical modelling and numerical simulations of (micro-)fluidic problems you might consider our tutorium "CFD-based simulation and optimization of microfluidic components" that will take place from 4 - 8 April 2022 (five days full time). You will use the commercial but nevertheless very powerful and customizable FEM framework COMSOL Multiphysics to solve selected problems involving fluid dynamics and mass transfer. Don't worry if you have never used this software before. You will work through two tutorials at the first two days of the tutorium that teach you how to tackle the selected physical problems during the remaining time. However, basic knowledge about transport phenomena and numerical methods is a prerequisite. You will write a report and present your results in a short talk. If the measurements owing to the Covid-19 pandemic will not be tightened till April the course will be in-person. Otherwise it will be postponed until the regulations are relaxed again.
