It depends on which master's program you are in. In the programs from 2021, only the report is graded and you only have to pass the defense. The defense is also graded if you are in one of the older ones. If I remember correctly, the weight can be chosen by the institute.

Thanks for the response. As I joined in 2022 (therefore PO 2021 regulations), does this mean I just have to show up (and do the bare minimum of course 
) and it still won't have any implication over my grade, since they would have probably 'determined' my grade already, based on the report? That's quite interesting, do you happen to have any link to the document where this is specified or it's more of a spoken word? Thanks in advance and Regards.

Very interesting, for general mechanical engineering it says that Kq (kolloquium) only gets bestanden or nicht bestanden (bnb, failed or not failed) and the 1 suggests the weighting which is 0 for Kq. The 40 says that the kolloquium must be 40 minutes long

Afaik some institutes might give a mark bonus up to one grade on special performance during the defense.
