Tutorial WiSe 2026/2027: Software Engineering for Machine Learning Applications in Manufacturing (SEML) at PTW

  • --- please find German version below ---

    Dear students,

the tutorial ‘Software Engineering for Machine Learning Applications in Manufacturing’ (TUCaN: 16-09-4274-tt) will be offered again in this winter semester! 🧑‍💻✨

    What you can expect:

    • Practical projects with three-axis CNC milling machines: You will work directly on modern CNC milling machines and experience how machine learning is used in production.
    • Career preparation: Develop software solutions exactly as they will be used later in the job.
    • Theory and practice combined: Learn how to use machine learning methods and professional software development, both theoretically and practically, in an implementation project.

    Prerequisites:

    • Basic knowledge of Python is required. Lack of prior knowledge will lead to a higher familiarization effort, but references for familiarization before start of the tutorial will be provided.
    • You will need your own Laptop/Mobile PC during the tutorial.

👉 Register now! The tutorial is restricted to a maximum amount of 20 students. If you are interested, please send an email to tutorium-seml@ptw.tu-darmstadt.de first. Please, include your matriculation-no., first and last name, field of study AND your TU Darmstadt email address in the e-mail. As soon as you receive a positive response from the organizers by e-mail, you can register in TUCaN.

The tutorial will take place in Winter Semester 2026/2027, and you can earn 4 CP. The tutorial consists of a theoretical and practical part:

    • Theoretical part from 02.11.2026 till 09.11.2026 (full time)
    • Practical part from 09.11.2026 till 25.01.2027 (part time)
    • Exam 18.01.2027 10:00 till 10:30 am (subject to change)
    • Final presentation in time slot at 25.01.2027 12:30 till 04:30 pm

    Liebe Studierende,

    Was euch erwartet:

👉 Meldet euch jetzt an!
