Dear Students,
We are offering an exciting master's thesis opportunity at the Institut für Strömungslehre und Aerodynamik (SLA)application. The project focuses on infrared and thickness measurements of a water drop impacting on a moving substrate, simulating conditions relevant to aircraft icing. The research involves conducting experiments on an existing setup where a single water drop impacts a rotating disk. The impact will be recorded using a synchronized infrared and high-speed camera. The images will be analyzed, and the residual ice thickness on the disk will be measured using a chromatic line sensor (CLS).
